The Huawei NetEngine AR720 is an efficient router equipped with a quad-core ARM processor. Its packet forwarding speed ranges from 9 to 25 Mbps, and its throughput is 4 Gbps. The device features two combo ports (Gigabit Ethernet/SFP) for WAN use and eight Gigabit Ethernet ports that can function as either LAN or WAN. The AR720 is notable for its efficiency and stability. Advanced software allows for early detection of various types of errors, ensuring uninterrupted operation. It supports WAC (WLAN Access Control) and can function as an access point controller in both eKitEngine and AirEngine networks. It provides robust network security thanks to an integrated firewall, IPS, URL filtering, and multiple VPN technologies. The device is designed for 19" rack mounting and has a built-in AC power supply with a maximum power consumption of 33W. Active cooling is used, with airflow directed from left to right.

It supports advanced IPv4 and IPv6 routing features, including RIP/RIPng, OSPF/OSPFv3, IS-IS/IS-ISv6, and BGP/BGP4+. It can manage access points and supports the CAPWAP protocol. The AR720 uses a non-blocking architecture, so it can fully utilize port bandwidth when operating as a switch, without worrying about any component creating a bottleneck.
Additionally, the router has two SIC slots where you can use compatible cards. These are hot-swappable ports, allowing you to replace them at any time during operation. Cards with additional WAN, LAN, or LTE interfaces can be used in these slots.
